![]() This was the #1 choice for people on my survey of what they currently use, and while their pros were consistent, the type of content people create varies greatly. A common thread throughout the entire Adobe Suite afaikÄespite the downsides of price, power and risk, which I do think are incredibly valid and shouldn't be undermined, I still consider this to be the best video editing software which is available on every platform. Occasional Risk - Have been told that some projects just won't open anymore and progress will be lost + has a history of 'not responding' and closing.Quite intensive, both in power and level of knowledge - Not only might it be daunting at first (albeit can be learnt online as that was my way of learning), it also requires some solid computer specs to use it too.Is a subscription payment - Unless you were to buy CS6 or anything before CC, you have to pay on a recurring basis.Sequences and variety aplenty - caters towards a massive pool of different raw inputs, and will almost work universally with whatever you throw at it.Able to do a lot of editing with it, if videos require it - tools, transitions, effects, colour correction, keyframing, etc.Vast array of tutorials and guides across the Internet to help you in case you were to get stuck - beginner friendly in that regard.Synergetic with the Adobe Creative Cloud - if possible for you to get the whole suite, it has a lot of versitility with the other programs and can work tremendously in all of them.Arguably the most renowned and praised video editing software - no matter what content you do, it can do the job well. However, gears towards those with intermediate/advanced level knowledge at first. Level of knowledge required: Can encompass anyone's level, from entry into editing to advanced. Price Ranges depending on package used: Current version CC is $20.99 per month in an annual plan, $31.49 per month on a monthly basis. That way, if you're someone who's new to YouTube that wants to get into it, and isn't too sure about where to start, this can hopefully at the very least scratch the surface of what you're looking to know and what's the right editor for you! ![]() It's now 6 years later, and including all the variety of different YTers I've watched over the years and their approaches to editing in their videos, I decided (with a great assist to those from r/NewTubers) to try and compile a major list of the video editing softwares. Since becoming interested in YouTube and video-making since I was 13/14, the one thing that caught my eye the most was seeing videos that use high levels of editing surrounding their topics and the type of software that they used. ![]() I'm immensely thankful and I hope this post does the help justice!) ![]() It's helped give me some major reach on lesser softwares I wasn't aware of until people let me know. I didn't anticipate anything more than maybe 4-5 responses, but I was able to get 44 at the time of me starting to write this up the day after, which is insanely helpful and I couldn't give more gratitude. (Before I get into the post, just wanted to give a MASSIVE thank you to the community reach and input from everyone that filled in the Google Form I put out in this post.
